Cod Liver Oil contains large amounts of natural vitamin D3, not synthetic vitamin D2. Vitamin D3 is an absolute requirement for the utilization of calcium by the body. Many people
believe they receive enough calcium because they take a calcium supplement
however, the average American receives less than one to two hours of natural sunlight daily. Without natural "body of
light" vitamin D3, calcium cannot be utilized. If insufficient calcium is stored within cells, then the parathyroid harmone
stimulated by the deficiency of vitamin D, induces the extraction of calcium
from the bones. If the calcium deficiency continues, the body begins to
extract calcium from proteins that regulate key cell functions. This, in turn,
can lead to poor cell function. In
